Outside of the Frames: Cooking Delicious food

Last night I wanted to try making some different. So I found a recipe for Artichoke and Chicken. I changed the recipe to make it work, with what I had.

Ingredients for 2 people

- 2 Artichokes
- 1 Garlic
- 1/2 of a medium sized Onion
- 1 Lemon
- White Wine
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 packet of Chicken fillets
- Tablespoon of Red Pepper Corn

Chicken

First I started off with turning the oven on to 350 degrees. Next I oiled a cooking pan and put the chicken in with a clove of finely chopped garlic. Then I took some montreal steak spice and put it all over the chicken. I put the chicken into the oven to cook for 40 minutes.

About 26 minutes later I started cooking the Artichokes

Artichokess
I took out a frying pan and chopped 1/2 onion, 2 garlic cloves and 2 Artichokes hearts (make sure not to cut off all the meat of the Artichoke) into the frying pan. I took about a tablespoon of red pepper corn and placed into the pan. I cut up one lemon into finely chopped slices and placed into pan. Then I took white wine and put a few splashes in (under half a glass of white wine). I let cook for about 8 minutes on medium heat and then added another small splash of wine. Then let it cooked for about another 5-10 minutes until little browned.

I placed the Artichokes onto a dish, then I put the chicken on top of the Artichokes. I took the cooked lemon from the artichokes dish and placed on top of the chicken. After that it was ready to be served.

This is a wonderful dish that is easy and tasty to make.

Outside of the Frames: Skin Care

I was recently at Winners and came across the Korres Pomegranate Regimen Kit for oily and combination skin. I picked up the kit for $16.99, at sephora the kit is $40. I was so glad to find such a great deal.  For some time I have been very curious to try out the Pomegranate line. I was a little bit hesitate to try the line mainly due to the fact that I have dry/combination skin, so I did some research and found that the line is great for people with dry combination skin. So I thought, I would give the line a shot and I am so happy I did because its doing wonders for my skin.

In the past I have used and been using the Korres: Milk cleanser and the Wild Rose-24-hour moisturizing cream. I have used both products for more then 2 years until I was introduced to Origins. I love the Origins line and have been using it up. I use the origins line with my korres products and now have the most amazing skin care system.
Products in the kit:

Pomegranate Cream-Gel- amazing lit-weight cream that smells so lovely.

Pomegranate Mask- Have not tried it yet but I have a feeling I am going to love it.

Pomegranate Scrub- Love how the scrub is not harsh on my skin.

White Tea Cleanser- The cleanser I have been waiting for all my life- its that good!!

Evening Primrose Eye Cream- Perfect for thoughs dark circles from staying up to late.

Now I have found the perfect Skin care routine.

Outside of the Frames: Workout Attire

As I was walking by the Gap in the mall I noticed a manikin wearing these great workout pants.  So wondered in and was surprised to find so many get deals. I have not been in the Gap for almost 7 or more years. As a child I was dressed in clothes from the Gap but as I got older I found new stores such as Aritzia, Urban Outfitters, Bebe, Lululemon, Nike, American Apparel, Winners, American eagle, Holliser, Aerie etc. While in the Gap, I was surprised to find the new line of GapFit which are theses great workout cloths.

I also picked up two tshirts for $20 and three pairs of socks for $9.

This is the shirt I picked up. Love the colour!! The shirt was regularly $29.95 and I got it for $17.99.
I also bought these pants but with mint and purple stripes on the side.   The pants where on sale for $35 from $49.95.

For under $60 thats a really good price to buy workout cloths.
Another thing I love about these workout cloths is they are made in vietnam instead of China. It's important to me to find clothing that is not made in China.
I always feel good when I wear a cute outfits to workout in. It gives me that extra boost of confidence.

Do you own workout cloths from the Gapfit line? What are your thoughts on the GapFit line? What is your favorite workout brand?

Outside of the Frames: Pilates

I just did Pilates for the first time and loved it. I thought pilates was much easier, I was surprised to find out its not so easy. It's much more diffcult then I ever imagined. The slower you go, while doing each movement the harder it actucally is! I did pilates for 40 minutes and felt my core was stenghted after I finished. I think it would be a really good idea for me to do 30 minutes of pilates in the morning and then in the evening. I will try to do pilates both in the morning/evening and see how it  goes.

If you haven't tried pilates. Try it out you may just love it!

Outside of the Frames: Fresh Face

I recently bought the Catastrophe Cosmetic fresh mask by Lush. I like to use this mask every other day.  The mask is both calming and soothing to the face.  Its a deep cleansing treatment that is gentle enough to use ever other day or even daily. This mask does not leave my face feeling dry. I immediately, after only one use, felt a difference in the softness of my skin. I apply the mask before I go to bed and when I wake up the redness and irritation has calmed down and mostly faded away.

Have you ever used this mask? Whats your favorite mask?

Have a wonderful day!
Outside of the Frames: Fitness

For the past few days I have been working out on the elliptical for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Before I start my workout I like to start by stretching for about 5 minutes. Then I like to do about 10-20 pushups, 10-20 crunches and 15 situps. After I have finished working out on the ellipitical I do 3-5 minutes of stretching.

I really enjoy doing this fitness routine. I like how I do not feel sore after my workout, I just feel good and energized.

Outside of the Frames: Bananas = Clear skin!

Today I can across a post on pinterest, I then clicked on the post which lead me to a cool blog. The post was about using Banana Peels to treat acne. I had no idea that bananas have the power to fight against acne, due to the fact they have potassium and antioxidants to powerfully reduce swelling, irritation and redness.

The steps: First to eat a Banana, since they are so good for you. Cut a 1 inch piece off the banana. Rub the piece, you cut off on the irritated area for about 5 minutes. Then cut another piece if needed and repeat on another irritated area. Then take lukewarm water and clean the skin around the area, but make sure the banana dries out on your skin to clear up the blemishes. Do this three times a day.

I love how this a great natural way to clear acne. I find, I have small breakouts occasionally and would rather not us harsh chemical products on my skin that usually only do more harm in the long run. I will for sure be trying this out tonight!

Try it out an tell me what you think.

Night night thought: Fun in the Sun

Something I always love about summer is the hot days at the beach. Once the sun comes out, I pretty live at the beach. I had a wonderful day at the beach.
There are some truly wonderful people in this world. When I was at the beach. I left my towel and flip flops on the sand. The tide was comming in but I thought my stuff would be ok. When I was swimming back to the shore, I noticed the tide was way in and my stuff was no where to be found. Then I saw my stuff on a log. So who ever pick up my stuff thank you. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Also, will be putting up pics tomorrow of my awesome tie dying.

Late night thoughts
The wondering of not knowing what happens in the future is exciting yet terrifying. The future is something unknown that holds the rest of our lives. If we keeping wanting to know, what the future holds then we can not live in the moment. That moment is right now. Live in the now and the rest falls into place, thats the beauty of life.

Live in the moment!!

Late night thoughts
Today was a beautiful day the sun was shining. I am blessed with so many thin, yet something does not feel right. Do you ever feel like something missing in your life. The last few days, I feel as though I missing something in my life. I also have been wondering do I take risks or do I shy away from taking them. I feel like my life is incomplete in some way, but what is exactly incomplete in my life. I keep pondering these thoughts, wishing for some sort of answer. Is the answer right infront of me or do I have to search for the answer. All I want is a simply answer...

Late night thoughts

Its so strange how suddenly things change. Today, I found out my aunt and uncle are separating. Its weird to think that they could be getting a divorce. I am in totally shock that this is actually happening. I feel bad for my cousins. One of them just graduated. It must be so hard on him well on both of them. Its an exciting time to grad, now that will not even matter. It would change so much if they did divorce. I hope everything works out even if they have to separate. They are all wondeful people and I truly hope everything works out for the best. But I am really hopeing they can work it out.

xoxo

Anyone who has went or are going through your parents or family members getting a divorce my heart goes out to you!! My heart also goes out to my family who I love dearly.

Hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow
As per usual here's more late night thoughts/story time

Sometimes, I wish that I never said "yes" in the first place, to my good guy friend when he asked me out. We were friends for two years before he asked. I always liked him. He was a really good friend to me. To be honest, I never thought he would ask me out. When I first met him , he was very welcoming and really out going, which I admired. At the time he had a girlfriend who was a very sweet girl they seemed so in love, I thought they would be together forever....

It was somewhere,in grade 11 when she broke up with him. The break up was hard on him and I new it would take along time for him to heal from the breakup. I think it was my senior year of high school, when I realized I had feelings for him, but I wasnt sure if they were feelings that wanted to be more then friends. I got the feeling he liked me for sometime. One day he asked me out I was floored, and not at all expecting for this to happen, but I did say yes. I should have seen this comming everyone else did!! I had so many thoughts running through my mind it was a bit overwheming.

What I should have said was "I need time to think it through". Why didn't I tell him that. Such simple words but they never came out of my mouth.

Too be continued...

I will tell you this I do not believe in living with regret. Things happen for a reason. All you can do is keep moving forward. Sometimes writing the past helps close old doors or open new ones.

xoxo
